From What The Flux Comics, comes Victoria Angel, the captain of the steam airship Red Angel. First of all, we dig chicks in charge, especially when they’re wearing the captain’s hat. But what’s cool about this comic is not just the cutlass wielding 19th Century robots, but the fact that the series is inspired by real life model-actress, Amy Vitale, and, well, since Amy is hot, we reckon’ (that’s 1800′s talk for ‘believe’) it’s pretty obvious that Victoria Angel is too.

Written & penciled by William Tucci, Shi, along with Vampirella & Lady Death (Shi also means ‘death), was a crucial part of the independent comics ‘Bad Girl’ Craze that took the world by storm in the mid 1990′s, when Shi was still a part of Crusade Comics. Shi’s long legs not withstanding, creator Tucci’s previous gig as a fashion designer was always prevalent between the high quality covers of Shi, meaning Ana Ishikawa had even a little more sex-appeal, as one of the best dressed superheroines to date.
